On the 6th and 7th of September Jeffery Allen and Agatha from the HealthyLifestyle organisation came into our school to discuss, debate and reflect on each students lifestyle and routine. Jeffery was in the Irish Army for 21 years. For 5 of those 21 years he was a part of the special forces.
I learned many things throughout the course, such as how important it is to have a healthy diet, exercise, relationships and workspace. They also taught us how we need good sleep patterns to focus and to enjoy life. I certainly took aboard their teachings and I will try to ensure to adapt to their advised ways of life.
Agatha is an nutritionist and taught us about how bad MSG is for us. MSG is in all unhealthy foods such as chocolate, sweets and fast food. She also spoke to us on simple and complex food.
Jeffery drew in my attention when he spoke to us about group dynamics. If one student doesn't "storm" then the whole group won't "preform". One part of this slideshow i really enjoyed and i really learned from was a method that Jeffery likes to call "storming". If i feel i was hard done by or something was presented to me incorrectly i should "storm" that person/people. "Storming" means arguing or demanding what I deserve or what i think I deserve. He explained to us that if we don't storm we wont progress to our full potential.
Overall, I enjoyed the course. It definitely will benefit me in life. I certainly have taken aboard their opinions and teachings. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to other schools.
